Heritage Railway Station Waratah Gardens
The
gardens were established about 7 years ago in a derelict railway
precinct now licensed to a community group for public enjoyment
and passive recreation. Located in the centre of the village,
the gardens are now attracting wide attention as the best
place in Wingecarribee Shire to see masses of waratah in bloom.
Their peak flowering season is October, so this year we are
inviting members of the public to come visit us during Open
Garden time. The main “varieties” we have are the NSW waratah
Telopea speciosissima and “Corroboree” its hybrid
with the Braidwood waratah, T.mongaensis . Cost $5
